Telegram is famous for having multiple account support, channels and many other features that were introduced before WhatsApp. Now, the company has released an update for privacy-conscious users.
The company announced in a blog post that its latest app update will allow you to sign up for a Telegram account if you don't have a SIM, and for that you'll need to purchase an anonymous phone number on the Fragment platform.
It is mentioned that these anonymous numbers can only be used with Telegram. However, this is still a great feature if you want to connect to your phone number for whatever reason (eg privacy).
This is not the only new addition to Telegram as part of the latest update. You also get auto-delete functionality for all new chats, improved topic functionality in groups, "aggressive anti-spam" mode for groups, and the ability to generate a QR code to add you without a username or phone number.
Telegram also brings various emoji related changes like emoji search for iOS App, custom emoji for Premium users.
Finally, the company confirmed that the Android App's Store Usage page has been updated to be compatible with iOS. Publishing means you can delete entire media types from a chat to view storage usage by the chat (eg delete all videos in a chat).
